RAMTEC leader visits FANUC World Headquarters-Japan

Above: Tri-Rivers Superintendent Chuck Speelman  on the far right  with Rick Snyder FANUC President for North & South America and Dr. K Inaba The Tri-Rivers Career Center (TRCC) Superintendent Chuck Speelman visited the FANUC Robotics and CNC world headquarters in Tokyo, Japan last week to see some of the existing and new educational and industrial products FANUC has been developing.  Speelman was one of 50 partners world-wide invited to attend the event.

Robotics was a part of Speelman’s vision  to develop a real world world training center for industrial and manufacturing training in 2012 for both high school and adult students that would alleviate the shortage of skilled technicians across Ohio. This vision grew into the Robotics Advanced Manufacturing Technology Educational Collaborative (RAMTEC). Through a partnership with FANUC, our school now has become a national training center that has certified more than 100 students and adult workers since February of 2014 in FANUC Tool Operations and Programming course. The training center has FANUC certified trainer Mark Edington who been to Japan as well to meet Dr. Inaba and tour the FANUC Robotics facilities.

RAMTEC will soon complete a new CNC and Precision Machining training center that will include the latest FANUC RoboDrills, and Levell CNC training equipment for our high school and adult learners. FANUC developed and released a top quality marketing promotional video (click to see FANUC RAMTEC video) to promote our partnership. The RAMTEC program will soon include 9 state of the art training facilities throughout Ohio. These training centers were able to be created through an Ohio Department of Education $15,000,000 Straight A grant. FANUC is one of 7 Industrial partners in our RAMTEC Ohio manufacturing partnership.
